Faculty: Tom Cashman

Tom Cashman, B.S., Applied Behavioral Science (Consulting and Leadership), City University/Leadership Institute of Seattle; Pacific Northwest Spiritual Direction Training Program, University of British Columbia, Vancouver School of Theology (two-year certificate program); B.A., University of Minnesota (Music Theory and Composition), as well as numerous graduate courses, seminars, workshops in consulting, corporate coaching and organizational development.

Tom is on the staff of the Pastoral Leadership Program at Seattle University, which is a Lilly Foundation-funded program in which he provides both spiritual direction and coaching in discernment for ordained pastors and lay leaders; and for which he also provides advanced leadership skills development. In addition, Tom is an adjunct faculty member for Healthy Systems in the Seattle University Ministry curriculum. Tom teaches a class in Celtic Spirituality on a 2-year cycle at Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle (not to be confused with Mars Hill Church in Ballard). He also teaches Spiritual Formation and lead Spiritual Direction practicums there. Tom is a life-vowed member the third-order of the Order of St. Aidan, and its northwest regional. The rule of life of this order centers on emulating the lives of the Celtic saints as followers of Jesus Christ. Tom is also a member of the TACS (Training and Consultative Services) of the Diocese of Olympia Tom contributed a chapter to Still Listening: New Horizons in Spiritual Direction, as well as articles in Earth Letter, Dawn Pie, The Wild Goose, Anamchairde, and various other periodicals of spiritual direction and Celtic Spirituality.
