Joseph H. Anderson, Certificate in Theology, Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California; Secondary Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University; B.A. (Comparative Literature), University of California at Berkeley. Associate Director, Center for Sacred Art, Seattle. Joseph is an accomplished vocalist and founding member of Peregrine Medieval Vocal Ensemble (Artists-in-Residence at St. Mark's Cathedral, Seattle). He has studied, performed, and taught Gregorian chant for the past fourteen years. He has led many workshops and retreats focusing on the practice of chant, and has developed numerous programs on various aspects of chant and spirituality, including investigations of chant in the life and works of St. Francis of Assisi, Thomas Merton, and Dante Alighieri Joseph's understanding of chant is enriched by a long-time interest in traditional sacred music as a form of spiritual practice in the world's religions.
