Spiritual Growth 107 Being Episcopal in the Pacific Northwest
Spring Quarter 2009
Class Time: CANCELLED
Instructor: Sam Torvend, Ph.D.
This course will first introduce students to the distinctive characteristics of Pacific Northwestern culture and the ways in which cultural values provide both promise and peril for the future of Episcopal communities. Students will also consider the ways in which the continual renewal of Episcopal identity through worship and service enable a minority religious tradition to flourish in a culture deeply skeptical of religion.
